Raymond Albert Small Young

Aiken, SC—Raymond “Big Bub” or “Bub” Albert Small Young, age 51, entered into rest July 25, 2021 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Jennifer Lee States Young and the son of the late Raymond Small and the late Thelma Pope Young. Mr. Young was a native of Somerset, NJ and had made Aiken his home for the last three years. He was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. While attending Asbury Park High School, he was a football star who won the state championship. He later attended college Montclair State in Montclair, NJ and became an amazing salesman. His hobbies included Steelers Football, Philadelphia 76ers basketball, NY Yankees baseball, Spade games on his cell phone, and being with his children. He was an animal lover, and loved his dogs dearly. Survivors include: one son Xavier Young, MA; six daughters Tilah (Aaron Thomas) Young, Willing Boro, NJ, Brianna Young, Atlantic City, NJ, Jordon Young, Toms River, NJ, Kaylan States, Aiken, Bryann States, Middletown, NJ, Savanna Young, Aiken, and Paitynlee Young, Aiken; two brothers Jerry (Catherine) Young, New Brunswick, NJ, Arthur Young, New Brunswick, NJ; two sisters Ronda Johnson Freehold, NJ and Bonnie Aboagye, Plainsboro, NJ; one aunt Amelia Florentine, Aiken; parents-in-law Harriet States, Somerset, NJ and Kenneth (Cathy) States, Harrah, OK; one god-daughter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Asbury Park, NJ and will be posted via Jennifer Young’s Facebook page in the coming week.
