Mrs. Faye Cornelia Pennington Slaughter

Lexington SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Faye Cornelia Pennington Slaughter age 87 will be held 11:00 am Saturday December 11, 2021 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Aiken with Rev. Marion Britton officiating. A private Interment will be held at Aiken Memorial Park.  Mrs. Slaughter entered into rest peacefully Tuesday December 7, 2021 at the Legacy of Lexington.  She was a native and lived most of her life in Aiken and was the wife of the late Mr. Alfred “Al” Slaughter and a daughter of the late Mr. Julian Pennington and the late Mrs. Lillie Baughman Pennington. Mrs. Slaughter was the bookkeeper for Al Slaughter Plumbing Company for 10 years,  a  bookkeeper for Good Year Tire on Richland Ave.,  and the Farmers and Merchants Bank on Laurens Street in Aiken for several years.  Mrs. Slaughter was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Aiken. She enjoyed quilting, missions work, playing a good game of scrabble and was an awesome seamstress. Additional survivors include one son, Rock A. (Suzette) Slaughter, Aiken; one daughter, Melody Slaughter Heffline, Lexington, SC; honorary son, Tim Dominick, Lexington, SC, honorary daughters, Sandra Gray and Sherry White both of Aiken; one sister, Bessie Ann Rains, Aiken; three grandchildren, Lindsey (Christopher) Slaughter Hughes, Cleveland, TN Ashley Slaughter, Aiken, Finje Mutter, Germany,  and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Mrs. Slaughter was also predeceased by one brother, Thomas Julian Pennington and one sister, Retha Perry.  Pallbearers will be Woody Gregory, Derrick Murray, Chuck Bishop, Gene Reeves, Drew Arsi, and Richie Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Lighthouse Baptist Church.  Due to the covid-19 situation face mask are asked to be worn and social distancing will be observed for the visitation and funeral.  In lieu of flowers donations  are to be made to the Indian Ministry of North America, P.O. Box 3472, Cleveland, TN, 37320. A visitation with the family will take place 5-8 pm Friday December 10, 2021 at Lighthouse Baptist Church 2094 Columbia Hwy N, Aiken, SC 29805.
