On February 8, 2022, Zelma Hagin Bowers, at the age of 79 years, passed away. Zelma was born in Aiken County on July 10, 1942, to her father, the late Matthew Hagin, Sr., and her mother, Lillie B. Price Hagin, of Aiken. She was married to the late Leon Bowers, Jr. Zelma has two surviving older sisters, Gladys Pope and Elizabeth Derr, and a younger brother, Matthew Hagin, Jr. (Charlene). She is also survived by her children Pat (Limeur “Chuck”) Myers, Leon “Al” (Wandala), and Deneen (Marion) Mays, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grands, and 1 great-great grand, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Zelma retired from BellSouth/AT&T as a telephone operator. She was a Jehovah’s Witness who attended the East Congregation on Croft Mill Rd. A public memorial service will be held Sunday, February 20th at 1: 00 on Zoom.
