Aiken, SC-- A celebration of life service will be held for Mrs. Syvil Mae Wray Spivey Luta, age 82, 1:00 pm on Thursday July 2, 2026 at Cole Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Smart officiating. Mrs. Luta entered into rest on June 29, 2026 at her home. She was the daughter to the late Mr. Warren Wray and the late Mrs. Estelle Rochelle Wray. Mrs. Luta made Aiken County her home for the past 64 years. She was a member of Clear Water Branch Baptist where she was also baptized. Mrs. Luta had a heart for taking care of people, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking country style food for her family, but also made time to go out dancing at Silver Bullet in Augusta. Mrs. Luta enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and much more. Some of her hobbies included fishing, going to the NC mountains, and listening to old country music. She had a very strong willed and caring nature, and loved feeding people. Mrs. Luta will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Survivors include: three sons, Stanley (Cherie) Spivey, Aiken, SC, Gregory Spivey, Aiken, SC, and Enricky (Marjorie Curry) Luta, Aiken, SC; three daughters: Cynthia “Cindy” (Rick) Mayle, Aiken, SC, Karla (Roger) Mitchell, Batesburg, SC, and Melisa (Chris) Corley, Aiken, SC; one sister Patty (Tommy) Bryan, Jacksonville, NC; nine grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother John “Poochie” Calvin Wray.
