Mrs. Shirley Ard Rogers
Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Shirley Ard Rogers, age 79, will be held 12:00 pm on Monday September 14, 2026, at Grace Covenant Church of God with Rev. Michael Shirley, Rev. Edgar N. Foster, Rev. David L. Holdman, and Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Ard, Cody Cameron, Logan Rogers, Ayden Rogers, David Dyer, and Mike Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Ward and Colton Rogers. Mrs. Shirley entered into rest on Wednesday September 9, 2026, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Thomas “Tom” Rogers and a daughter to the late Mr. Cliford Henry Ard and the late Mrs. Oneita Stone Ard. Mrs. Shirley was born in Pamplico, SC, but had made the Aiken area her home since 1978. She was of the Holiness faith and was a faithful member of Grace Covenant Church of God. Mrs. Shirley was a dietician, working for the Aiken County School System from ’84-’95 as a lunch room manager for both Aiken Elementary and Silver Bluff High School. She also worked as a kitchen manager for A&A Vending for 10 years, retiring in 2011. Mrs. Shirley also subbed for all of the Aiken County schools. She was known for her excellent cooking and baking, especially her layered chocolate cake. Mrs. Shirley also enjoyed sewing and going to the beach. She was loved by her friends and family and will be deeply missed. Additional survivors include: two sons Henry Frankie (Kim) Rogers, Kernersville, NC, and Tony (Julie) Rogers, Upton, MA; one daughter Teresa (Mike) Ward, Aiken, SC; two sisters Nellie Rae Samuels, Scranton, SC, and Julie Conkright, Johnsonville, SC; six grandchildren Ashlan Rogers, Ayden Rogers, Noah Ward, Alyx Ward, Logan Rogers, and Colton Rogers; and one great grandchild Westen Rogers. Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her two brothers Buddy Ard and Neal Ard and one sister Connie Ard. A visitation with the family will take place from 6-8 pm on Sunday September 13, 2026, at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
