Aiken, SC—Mrs. Shirley Bell Cutrell Erickson, age 90, entered into rest on Sunday September 13, 2026, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Mr. Robert Leonard Erickson and a daughter of the late Mr. Clifton Cutrell and the late Mrs. Sadie Watson Cutrell. Mrs. Erickson was born in St. Brides, VA, but had made the Aiken area her home since 2014. She was a waitress for 55 years and had worked at Golden Corral in Bradenton, FL for fifteen of those years. Mrs. Erickson loved being outside, doing yard work and gardening. She also loved going to the beach; but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her extended family in England. She was loved by her friends and family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: two sons Gary Erickson, North Ft. Myers, FL, and Howard Erickson, Sr., Graniteville, SC; two daughters Diana (Barry) Colman, Palmetto, FL, and Elizabeth “Ann” (Kim) Burson, Aiken, SC; two sisters Eunice Boyd, Chesapeake, VA, and Doris Collins, Suffolk, VA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and her fur baby Tinkerbell. Mrs. Erickson was preceded in death by: her brothers Clifton Cutrell and George Cutrell; and one daughter-in-law Teresa Erickson. A private service will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery.
