Samuel Lewis Stalnaker

Wagener, SC-- Mr. Samuel Lewis Stalnaker, age 77, entered into rest on September 21, 2026 at Lexington Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mr. Stalnaker was born in Columbia, SC to the late Mr. Henry Clay Stalnaker and the late Mrs. Hazel Norton Stalnaker. He was the loving husband of 57 years to his beloved wife Mrs. Linda Martin Stalnaker. Mr. Stalnaker served in the Navy in the Vietnam War. Later in life he made Aiken County his home for the past 26 years. He worked as a custodian for the Lexington County school system at Pelion Elementary for 20 years until he retired in 2011; and was also a mechanic for 40 years. Some of his hobbies included fishing and building cars. He will always be remembered for his perseverance, strength, and the love he showed for his family. Additional survivors include: one son: Johnnie Clay Stalnaker, Pelion, SC; daughters Dana Lynn (John) Gregory, Sparta, GA, Misty Dawn Cole, Wagener, SC, and Carrie June Stalnaker, Irmo, SC; one sister Debra Corder, Leesville, SC; and grandchildren Alissa Stalnaker, Brooke Stalnaker, Hannah Cole, and Clayton Sturkie; and great grandchild Langston Sturkie. He was preceded in death by one brother David Stalnaker and his grandson Anthony “Tony” Cole. A visitation with the family will take place from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday September 26, 2026, at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
