Aiken, SC--A celebration of life service for Mr. Roy Harvey Parrish, Sr. age 83 will be held 11:00 am Thursday, November 16, 2017 graveside at Redd's Branch Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Richard McWhite officiating. Mr. Parrish was born in Langley, SC and was a life long resident of Aiken County.  He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Mrs. Sara Stone Parrish of Aiken and a son of the late Mr. Leroy Madison Parrish and the late Mrs. Eula Gordon Parrish.  Mr. Parrish entered into rest peacefully Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.  He had retired in 1989 the Aiken District Manager with Aiken Electric Co-op with 38  years of service.  Mr. Parrish along with his son Roy were former owners and operators of R&R Electric Company back in the 1980's.  He was a member of Redd's Branch Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.  He was an avid fishermen, gardener, and loved traveling all over with his wife,  and was a donor giving 16 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.   Additional survivors include two sons, Roy H. (Lisa) Parrish, Jr., Aiken, Michael Eugene Parrish, Anderson, SC; a daughter-in-law, Gail Pickens Parrish, Anderson, SC; five grandchildren, Brittney Rachel (Ryan) Rahn, Liberty, SC,  Sara Ann, Madison, Matthew, Michael Parrish, all of Anderson, SC. Mr. Parrish was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Bee Camp Sons of the Confederate Veterans, honorary pallbearers will be the Linemen at Aiken Electric Co-op.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Redd's Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redds Branch Road, Aiken, SC 29801. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 am until time of service in the sanctuary of Redd's Branch Baptist Church Thursday, November 16, 2017.
