Mrs. Rosaleen Cook Burnette
Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Rosaleen Cook Burnette age 78, will be held 3:00 pm Friday June 6, 2014 at Redds Branch Baptist Church with Dr. Roy L. Head officiating. Interment will follow in Darien Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Burnette was a native and a life long resident of Aiken. She was the wife of the late Mr. Barney Courtney and the late Mr. James Burnette. Mrs. Burnette was the daughter of the late Mr. Olin Cook and the late Mrs. Rosa Stewart Cook. Mrs. Burnette retired in 2004 after 40 years of service with Avondale Mills ( Graniteville Company ) as a Spooler. She was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Burnette, Aiken; four daughters, Alice (Donnie) Moulton, Aiken, Ann (Johnny) Moseley, Aiken, Gail Wertz, Aiken, and Connie Holsenback, Aiken; three brothers, Tommy Cook, Hilton Head, Gene (Geneva) Cook, Aiken, Bobby Cook, Aiken; one sister, Mary Whittle, Hilton Head; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Burnette was predeceased by two sisters, Vivian Godwin and Mrytle Lou Burckhalter.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Baggott, Corey Holsenback, Brad Wertz, Gary Wertz, Thaddeus Kosinsky, and Cord Moseley.
