Aiken--A celebration of life service for Mr. Roger Dale McLane, age 69 will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday December 14, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Park.  Mr. McLane entered into rest Friday, December 9, 2016 at Augusta University Medical Center (MCG). He was a native of  Anderson, SC and had made Aiken County his home for the past 48 years. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Mrs. Betty Sue Johnson McLane and a son of the late Mr. Dewey Lee McLane and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Ashworth McLane. Mr. McLane had retired  in 2004 in maintenance utilities at Kimberly Clark with 36 years of service.  He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Sr. Men’s Sunday School Class. Additional survivors include one son, Christopher Michael McLane, Aiken; two brothers Douglas McLane, Aiken, James Herbert McLane, Anderson; one sister, Barbara Odom, Anderson. Mr. McLane was also predeceased by one brother, Thomas Sherman McLane.  Pallbearers will be Nolan Hardeman, Johnny White, Darle Opalewski, John Smith, Lee Benson, Nathan  Allen, and Jimmy Wood. The family has suggested that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church 1127 Bethel Church Road, Aiken, SC, 29801, or to Connie Maxwell Children's Home,  810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC,  29646.  A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm Tuesday December 13, 2016 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
