Mr. Richard Thomas Russell U.S. Navy Retired

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service with full military honors for Mr. Richard Thomas Russell U.S. Navy Retired age 77 will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday September 13, 2022 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with MaryAnnie Wienbeck speaking. Interment will be held 11:00 am Wednesday September 14, 2022 at Aiken Memorial Park. Mr. Russell entered into rest Sunday September 4, 2022 at his home. He was a born in Scotts Field, IL and was a life long resident of Aiken County. Mr. Russell was a son of the late Mr. Richard Russell and the late Earline Andrews Russell. Mr. Russell retired in 1988 from the U.S. Navy retaining the rank of ATC as a maintenance technician. After his retirement from the Navy Mr. Russell was an automotive sales rep. for 15 years. His was a gun enthusiast, a collector of Jim Shore enjoyed NASCAR racing and Clemson football. Mr. Russell’s greatest joy came from his grandchildren, who adored him. Survivors include two sons, Wayne Hondo Russell, Aiken, Dale (Amber Johnson) Johnson, Aiken; one daughter, Stacie (Michael) Russell, Easley, SC: one sister, Penny Limehouse, Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Richard Hood, Lilly Johnson, Anna Johnson, Sophia Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Russell was predeceased by one sister, Gayle Kosinski. In lieu of flowers the family has asked the donations be made to the ASPCA-Aiken, at secure.aspca.org.
