Aiken, SC—Mrs. Phyllis Samples Burnam, age 82, entered into rest on Saturday April 4, 2026, at her residence. She was a beloved daughter of the late Mr. Harry Cecil Samples and the late Mrs. Freeda Hill Samples. Mrs. Burnam was born in Charleston, WV, but had made the Aiken area her home for the last few years. She was a Jehovah's Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Croft Mill Road. Mrs. Burnam enjoyed shopping, swimming, and sitting in the sun. She also enjoyed reading “The Watchtower” and listening to Alan Jackson. She deeply loved and appreciated music, witnessing firsthand the musical talents of her family. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved coloring with her great granddaughters and watching the children play in the backyard. She was loved by her family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: two sons Jeffrey (Missy) H. Hadden, Aiken, SC, and Donald (Dawn) A. Hadden, North Augusta, SC; one daughter Angela (Asa) Sharp, Lake City, FL; two brothers Harry “Buddy” (Iris) C. Samples, Jr., Wagener, SC, and John D. Samples, Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. A private service with the family will be held at a later date.
