Mrs. Myrtie Jane Gregory Ashley

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Myrtie Jane Gregory Ashley, age 92, will be held 11:00 am on Saturday May 9, 2026, at Unity Holiness Church in Aiken with Pastor Robbie Sharpe officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dee Doolittle, CJ Wendt, Donnie Miller, Bryan Ashley, Jessie Cockrell, Brandon Adkins, Ron Hamilton, and Nate Greene. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Sharpe, Paul Mills, and Roger Goodwin. Mrs. Ashley entered into rest on Monday May 4, 2026, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Mr. Charles “CJ” Ashley and a daughter to the late Mr. James C. Gregory and the late Mrs. Lula Gregory. Mrs. Ashley was born in Bulloch County, GA, but had made the Aiken area her home for most of her life. She was of the Holiness faith, and was a member of Unity Holiness Church in Aiken. Mrs. Ashley enjoyed many things in life. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves and the South Carolina Gamecocks play. She loved going to yard sales, auctions and flea markets, as well as taking trips to Florida to see her sister. Mrs. Ashley also enjoyed playing games, such as BINGO and Pacman. She read her Bible daily and love her dog Dallas emphatically. Mrs. Ashley was an amazing cook. She enjoyed fishing with her husband. Mrs. Ashley was a spitfire with no filter; she wasn't scared to tell you what she thought. She also didn't mind embarrassing you in public. She loved most of all spending time with her family. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: four sons Charles(Tanjia) Ashley, Edgefield, SC, John (Julie) Ashley, Johnston, SC, Warren (Andrea) Ashley, Taylorsville, NC, and John (Krystal) Ashley, Jr., Warrenville, SC; two daughters Betty (Ed) Stockwell, Batesburg-Leesville, SC, and Ann (John T.) Wendt, Aiken, SC; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Ashley was preceded in death by: her brothers Warnell Gregory, Clifford Gregory, and Donnie Gregory; and her sisters Gertie Homer, Grace Tool, Lucille Key, and Mag Seeby. A visitation with the family will take place on Friday May 8, 2026, at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PKWY (118 BYPASS) AIKEN, SC 29801 803-648-7175.
