Mr. Murrel Elwood Duncan

Aiken, SC—Mr. Murrel Elwood Duncan, age 75, entered into rest on Tuesday July 26, 2022, at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Jane “Molly” Jones Duncan and the son of the late Mr. Convie Duncan and the late Mrs. Mildred York Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a native of Norma, TN, and had made the Aiken area his home for the last 50 years. He attended Mercy Church along with his wife Molly. Mr. Duncan worked for Graniteville Co. Gregg Division as a shop mechanic for 34 years where he retired in 2007. Afterwards, he had worked for Dumpster Depot for seven years as a truck driver. Mr. Duncan was a United States Army Veteran, where he served during the Vietnam War. His hobbies included fishing, antique cars, and NASCAR. Mr. Duncan was an avid fan of Mark Martin. Most of all, he loved taking care of his family, working seven days a week providing for them. He was loved and will be deeply missed. Additional survivors include: one daughter Shannon (Chad) Bodie, Fort Mill, SC; three brothers Rev. Hilton Duncan, Stearns, KY, Eugene Duncan, O’Neida, TN, James Duncan, O’Neida, TN, and Johnny Shoopman, Corbin, KY; four sisters Sharon Sutton, Knoxville, TN, Annette Owens, Jacksboro, TN, Debbie Buttram, Huntsville, TN, and Vanessa Hick, O’Neida, TN; and four grandchildren Jessica Jennings, Zachery Jennings, Ethan Bodie, and Elana Bodie. Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by: one son Michael Elwood Duncan; one daughter Angela Jennings; and three brothers Jerry Duncan, Roger Duncan, and Dale Shoopman.
