Mr. Melvyn Lee Mitchell

Aiken, SC—A graveside service for Mr. Melvyn Lee Mitchell, age 81, will be held 11:00 am on Friday August 21, 2026, at Southlawn Cemetery with Rev. Leon Everett officiating. Mr. Mitchell entered into rest on Sunday August 16, 2026, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Mrs. Christina Lordier Mitchell and a son to the late Mr. Henry Orlan Mitchell, Sr. and the late Mrs. Cynthia Hepburn Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell was born in Downey, CA, but had made the Aiken area his home for the last 22 years. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Faith Riders Church. Mr. Mitchell was a contract manager for ten years at Parsons in Aiken, retiring in 2015. His hobbies included boating, going to the lake, enjoying a Bud Light, listening to Elvis Presley,and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed. Additional survivors include: one son Kevin Logan, Aiken, SC; three daughters Denise (Steve Finch) Mitchell, Ladera Ranch, CA, Kari Mitchell, Aiken, SC, and Shelley (Neal) Amestoy, Billings, MT; one brother Darryl Mitchell, Surprise, AZ; and four grandchildren Logan, Tyler, Brooklyn, and Nathan. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by: two brothers Henry and Wayne Mitchell and three sisters Marilyn, Jacquelyn, and Shirley.
