Mrs. Mary Osbon Bell

Aiken--A celebration of life service for Mrs. Mary Osbon Bell will be held 2:00 pm Friday September 28, 2018 at Couchton Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Broach and Rev. Edgar N. Foster, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.  Mrs. Bell entered into eternal rest Monday September 24, 2018 at her sons house.  She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Robert Franklin Bell, Jr. and a daughter of the late Mr. Arthur J. Osbon, Sr. and the late Mrs. Belle Rumbley Osbon.  Mrs. Bell was a 1944 graduate of Lee College, Sevierville, TN. and  served as an  office administrator,  and bookkeeper.  She was  a Den Mother for Cub Scout #134 in Aiken and was an active charter member of Couchton Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, was in the WMU and a member of the Adult Study Class.  She loved studying the Bible and has read it through many times.  Her hobbies were tending to her beautiful flower gardens, baking delicious dishes and passing the time painting.  Additional survivors include three sons, Robert Franklin Bell, III, Aiken, Charles Edward (Eddie) Bell, Aiken, Anthony William Bell, Monetta; one daughter, Teresa Bell Doolittle, Bybee, TN; three brothers, Nathan (Dessie) Osbon, Aiken, David Osbon, Aiken, Richard (Vivian) Osbon, Aiken; three sisters, Esther Camp, Aiken, Naomi (Bobby) Pennington, Aiken, Jewel (James) Padgett, Aiken; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Bell, Candice Bell Summers, Justin Charles Bell, Amanda Renee Bell-Boran, Shannon Elizabeth Bell, Katlyn Brissey, Samuel Mack Doolittle, and Timothy Austin Doolittle; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Mrs. Bell was also predeceased by one grandson, Robert (Robbie) Bell, two brothers, Jack Osbon, Jr., Owen Osbon, three sisters, Ruth Cook, Faye Morris, and Merlene Osbon. The family  suggested that memorials be made to  Couchton Baptist Church, 3171 Wagener Road, Aiken, SC, 29801. Pallbearers will be Mel Youngblood, Mark Bell, Rick Osbon, Tommy Cook, Godfrey Platts, Jr., and Carl Pennington.  Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.  The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday September 27, 2018 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
