Mrs. Mary Frances Hicks Martin

Wagener, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Mary Frances Hicks Martin age 85 will take place 5:00 pm Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Pelion Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jerry Branham officiating.  Interment will be in Midway Methodist Church Cemetery, Dentsville, SC.

Mrs. Martin entered into rest Monday, August 31, 2015 at Azaleawoods Nursing Facility, Aiken, SC.  She was the beloved wife of 29 years to the late Mr. Johnnie Roland Martin and a daughter of the late Mr. Leroy Hicks and Mrs. Rosa Gregory Hicks Brunson.  Mrs. Martin was a native of Columbia, SC and had made Aiken County her home for the past 26 years. She had been employed with the Richland County School System at Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary and North Springs Elementary, Dentsville, and retired in 1988 with 22 years of service.  She was a member of the Midway Methodist Church, Dentsville, SC.

Survivors include two sons, Randy R. (Becky) Martin, and Bobby R. (Donna) Martin; one daughter, Linda (Sam) Stalnaker, all of Wagener; three brothers, Thomas L. Hicks, Ft. Mill, SC, Aaron Hicks, Gastonia, NC, Eric Hicks, Kings Mountain, NC; one sister, Betty Heath, New Burn, NC; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grand children.
