Mary Esther Lever

Trenton, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Mary Esther Lever, age 90, will be held 1:00 pm Saturday June 25, 2022 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Parker officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery 2051 Division St. Augusta, GA 30904. Pallbearers will be Jerry Roberts, Terry Roberts, Dylan Akers, Evan Akers, Dayton Barrett, and John “JR” Whitfield, Jr. Mrs. Lever entered into rest at her residence on June 19, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late James Padgett and the late Theodore Lever and the daughter of the late Ollie Huntington and the late Leola Hall. Mrs. Lever was a native of Augusta and had made the CSRA her home all her life. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in North Augusta. In her younger years, she was a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Lever was a mill worker and a seamstress for most of her life. She was also a caretaker to her late brother George Huntington. Mrs. Lever enjoyed cooking and Elvis, was the mother of 10,000 cats, and was known as a baby sitter with a switch who chased children around the bird feeder. She was loved by her family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: three grandchildren Jerry (Judith) Roberts, Trenton, Christel Akers, North Augusta, and Terry Roberts, Brunswick, GA; five great grandchildren Dylan Akers, Evan Akers, Amanda Roberts, Megan Roberts, and Hope Roberts; and five great great grandchildren John “JR” Whitfield, Jr., Damien Rodriguez, Calliope Rodriguez, Lyla Moody, and Louella Moody. She was preceded in death by her son Eddie L. Padgett and her brother George Huntington.
