Martha Ann Dowd

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Martha Ann Brown Dowd age 79 will be held 12:00 noon at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Jeffrey Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville. Mrs. Dowd entered into rest Tuesday February 15, 2022 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Milton Dowd and a daughter of the late Mr. Edgar Bill Brown and the late Mrs. Mattie Blanch Davenport Brown.  Mrs. Dowd was a native and a life long resident of Aiken County. She had worked for Regal Textiles in Ware Shoals and Johnston, SC as a bobber and seamstress for over 9 years. Mrs. Dowd was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church of Aiken. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking.  She is survived by two sons, Michael Dowd, Aiken, Brandon (Judy) Dowd, Aiken; two brothers, John David Brown, Ware Shoals, SC, Thomas Edgar Brown, Donalds, SC; one sister Kathy Lynn Hall, Greenwood, SC. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Lighthouse Baptist Church. A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to services at the church.
