Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Margaret Grace Jones Mock, age 79, will be held 3:00 pm Sunday June 1, 2025, at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Buddy Brinkley officiating. Visitation with the family will take place at 2pm, one hour before the service. Mrs. Mock entered into rest on Tuesday May 27, 2025, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Powell Griffith Mock for nearly 21 years and a daughter to the late Mr. Edward D. Jones and the late Mrs. Frances Armstrong Jones. Mrs. Mock was born in Augusta, GA, and was a lifelong resident of the CSRA. She was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and current member of Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Mock was actively involved in her church. She was a church secretary, sang in the choir, and led a home group. Mrs. Mock loved to help people in need and was part of the Mended Hearts Group, visiting people in the local hospital. She was a talented and well-known artist in Aiken, having won numerous awards. Mrs. Mock also assisted with art classes for her church’s VBS each year. She was a supporter of the SPCA, and helped have stray cats spayed & neutered. Mrs. Mock enjoyed listening to Gospel music. She was loved by her family and will be deeply missed. Additional survivors include: two sons James (Christina) E. Henry, North Augusta, and Russell A. Henry, Leesville; one daughter Delores “Lorrie” (Ricky Sr.) Moxley, North Augusta; two step-daughters Kelli Cagle, Aiken, and Vicki Reiney, Aiken; one brother Charles Marion Jones, Grovetown; one sister Frances Elaine “Hannah” Johnson, Clearwater; four grandchildren; Brianna H. Henry, James R. Henry, Garion D. Henry, and Megan (Martin) Zerener; two great grandchildren Nora Grace Zerener and Hope Marie Zerener; four step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; and a niece Patricia Kitchens, who was like a sister; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mock was preceded in death by: two sons Curtis Henry and Christopher Hope Henry; one step-daughter Wanda Padgette; one brother Edward “David” Jones; and two sisters Dorothy Turner and Shelby Jean Shelton.
