Mrs. Mable Lois Chumbley Ussery
Edgefield, SC—A celebration of life service will be 11:00 am Saturday December 4, 2021 at St. John’s United Methodist Chapel, Aiken, SC with Rev. Butch Blackwell officiating. A private inurnment will be held at the St. John’s United Methodist Columbarium. Mrs. Ussery entered into rest Monday November 22, 2021 at Edgefield County Hospital, Edgefield, SC. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Lee Chumbley and to the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bridges Chumbley. Mrs. Ussery was a native of Greenwood MS. She had made Aiken County her home for the past 16 years, and was a graduate of Holmes College, Holmes, MS. Mrs. Ussery retired from the Mims Oil Company after 25 years of service. She was a brown belt in Karate, and loved Reading, Music and Animals, and was also a hot air balloon pilot. Mrs. Ussery was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Aiken, SC. Survivors include two sons, Jon Paul (Jackie) Hyche, Aiken, Bobby (Tina) Ussery, Madison, MS; grandchildren, Randi (Cody) Sento, Hayden Hyche, Jon Daniel Hyche, P.J. Hyche, Matthew Cupples, and Christina Ussery; great grandchildren, Cade, Millie, and Grayson Sento; Siblings, Jimmy (Sherri) Chumbley, Mike (Barbara) Chumbley, Alice (J.R.) Jackson of Somerset, KY; Friends of over 65 years, Marilyn Greenberg; Friends from the Croft House and Longleaf Senior Village; Her beloved dog, Mela, who has found a loving new home and her many dogs she loved throughout the years. The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to Aiken Regional Medical Center, The Ridge Rehabilitation in Edgefield, and the Croft House of Aiken for their compassionate care they gave our mother.
