Mr. Lucius H. Miller
Aiken, SC-- A celebration of life service for Mr. Lucius H. Miller, age 92, will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday July 23, 2026 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Hoeben and Rev. Eddie Moyer officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Frank Ray Lock IV, Brian Miller, Garrett Miller, William C. Gauthier, Robert Aull, William Vaught, Henry Gelinas, and John Vaulght. Mr. Lucius H. Miller entered into rest on July 21, 2026 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Saluda, SC to the late Mr. Jacob Miller and the late Mrs. Lucia Perry Miller. Mr. Miller was the loving husband to the late Mrs. Geneva Blevins Miller. He made Aiken his home for the past 68 years and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Miller did a lot of charity work for the local churches and had a passion for helping others. He worked at Southern Bell and AT&T as a business service technician for 31 years until he retired in 1984. Mr. Miller served in the Air Force for 5 years and 12 years in the Reserves. After his active duty in the Air Force he made Aiken, SC his home where he raised his family. He also was self-employed at Millers Services for 30 years, and he later retired in 2015. Mr. Miller loved working, and loved his companion dog Penny. Some knew him as Lou some knew him as Hilt, and some knew him as Straw. Many times, you would find him at his table reading his Bible. Survivors include: three sons Richard (Judy) Miller, Saluda, SC, Gary (Teresa) Miller, Aiken, and Darren Miller (Deborah Lock); brothers Roger Nudie Miller, Myrtle Beach, SC and John Wayne, Perry, GA; three grandchildren Garrett Miller, April (Marvin) Barnett, and Kimberly Miller; step grandchildren Senior Airman Natalie Proctor of Texas, Shanna Proctor; and three step great grandchildren Heidi, Bridget, and Caroline Proctor. He was preceded in death by his brothers Smith Harold Miller, Travis Miller, Vaughn Miller, and Ansel Miller; sister Lola Miller Aull; and a step grandson Clayton Proctor. A visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service. The family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude www.st.jude.org.
