Mrs. Katy Edgin Patterson

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Katy Edgin Patterson age 87 will be held 6:00 pm Thursday March 10, 2022 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating.  Interment will be private.  Mrs. Patterson entered into rest Wednesday March 2, 2022 at her residence.  She was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late Mr. William L. Patterson and a daughter of the late Mr. Buford Edgin and the late Mrs. Exie Tidwell Edgin. Mrs. Patterson was born in Henderson, TN and had made Aiken County her home since 1950.  She was a Deputy Auditor for the County of Aiken retiring in 1993 with 33 years of service.  Mrs. Patterson enjoyed the beach, gardening and was a fan of basketball.  She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Aiken, SC.  Survivors include one son, Randall Mark Patterson, Aiken; one daughter, Pamela (Michael) Smathers, Aiken; one sister, Betty Wellock, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; four grandchildren Amber Patterson (John) Johnston, Megan Patterson (Kyle) Bruce, SGT 1st Class William Jack (Naryah) Patterson, and Morgan Matthews (Joey) Raysar; and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Patterson was predeceased by one son,  Retired 1st Sergeant William K. Patterson, one brother, Fred Edgin, one sister, Faye Edgin Morton.  In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to the SPCA Albrecht Center of Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd. Aiken, SC, 29801.  A visitation with the family will be held following the service at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
