Mrs. Joanne Lillian Boyd Martin

Batesburg, SC—Mrs. Joanne Lillian Boyd Martin, age 89, entered into rest on Monday September 14, 2026, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of both the late Mr. Edwin Charles Gooding and Mr. Robert Leonard Martin, Sr., and was a daughter of the late Mr. John Boyd and the late Mrs. Elsie Torpy Boyd. Mrs. Martin was born in Yonkers, NY, but had made Batesburg her home since 1994. She was a graduate from St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers, NY in 1958. Mrs. Martin was a nurse for 39 years, serving in MA and RI. She loved crocheting, reading, square dancing, gardening, and listening to modern music. She was loved by her friends and family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: one son Kevin Edward Martin; one sister; two grandchildren Tamara Martin and Dimitri Martin; and two great grandchildren Conner Martin and Myka Martin. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by five sons Robert Leonard Martin, Jr., John Charles Martin, II, Steven James Martin, John Jack Martin, and David Christopher Martin; and one daughter Leslie B.
