Mrs. Joan Locke Jackson

Windsor, SC—Entered into rest Monday September 14, 2020 at her residence, Mrs. Joan Locke Jackson, age 84.  She was the wife of the late Mr. Earnest Jackson and a daughter of the late Mr. John Locke and the late Mrs. Ruth Hutter Locke.  Mrs. Jackson was a native of St. Louis, MO and had made Aiken County her home for the past 16 years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church Montmorenci, Montmorenci, SC.  Mrs. Jackson loved to crochet and handmade the lap blankets that are in the pews at First Baptist Church Montmorenci and also made lap blankets for the wheel chair bound patients. She also handmade bennies and scarves for the homeless.  Mrs. Jackson would always enjoy playing games with her grand and great grandchildren and would wet a hook whenever she had the opportunity to and catch as many fish as she could. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Eastern Star in St. James. MO.  Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Rick) Smith, Windsor; two sons, Earnest (Tammy) Jackson, Jr. Summerville, Wayne Jackson, St. James, MO; one sister, Jacqueline Peck, Mexico, MO; five grandchildren, Ashley (Terrance) Smith, Johnnie (Shawna) Smith, Jr., Christopher Smith, Daniel Smith, and Cody  Jackson; six great grandchildren, Madison Smith, Kayla Smith, Cynthia Bass, Johnnie Smith, Zachary Smith, and Maxwell Smith.  Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by one daughter, Brenda Jackson. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Montmorenci, P.O. Box 117, Montmorenci, SC 29839.
