Jennie Funderburg Coffey
Aiken, SC--A celebration of life service for Mrs. Jennie Funderburg Coffey age 72, will be held 2:00 pm Monday October 29, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church , Aiken, SC with Rev. Brancie Stephens and Rev. Glen Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Coffey will be placed into the church at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Coffey entered into rest Thursday October 25, 2018 at her residence peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Coffey was the beloved wife of 54 years to Mr. Monroe Coffey and a daughter of the late Mr. Albert Funderburg and the late Mrs. Abie Day Funderburg. She was a native and a life long resident of Aiken County and was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Aiken, SC where she was also a member of the Christ Messengers Sunday School Class and the Ladies Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. Mrs. Coffey also loved to fish, arts and krafts and being in the kitchen cooking her favorite food, especially those delicious cookies, and spending time with her grandchildren. Additional survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Anthony Lee), Aiken; her son, Mark (Gail) Coffey, Woodbury, PA; two sisters, Thelma Baynham, Aiken, and Phyllis Windham, Aiken; four grandchildren, Victoria, Johnny Shope, Sydney, Evan Coffey; two great grandchildren,Kayden Shope,and Beau Zinkhan, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Charlie Brad Kitchens, Martin Wright, Robbie Baynham, Bryan Baynham, John Reynolds, and Michael Baynham. Honorary pallbearers will be Christ Messengers Sunday School Class of Bethel Baptist Church. The family has suggested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to the staff at Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care, love, and support they gave Mrs. Coffey.
