Graniteville, SC--A celebration of life service for Mr. James Darrell Garvin, age 54 will be held 5:00 pm Saturday January 20, 2018 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Palmer and Rev. Dr. Joseph T. Brown officiating. A private Interment will be held at a later date. Mr. Garvin entered into rest at his residence on Sunday January 14, 2018. He was born in Augusta, GA, lived most of his life in Waynesboro, GA, and had made Aiken County his home since 2015. He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Denice Whaley Garvin and the son of the late Mr. James Holley Garvin and the late Mrs. Frances Leila Harsey Garvin. Mr. Garvin was the superintendent at the SRP Administration Campus for the past 17 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He  loved to travel with his wife Denice, go to the mountains, and play putt-putt golf. Mr. Garvin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Additional survivors include two daughters: Andrea (Joshua) Brown and Angelina (Marshall) Thompson, Waynesboro, GA; two step-sons: Hunter Kelly, Aiken and Coty (Ema) Kelly, Evans, GA; one sister: Phyllis (John) Bagley, Koosharem, UT; three grandchildren: Jacob Brown, Noah Brown, and Timothy Brown;  mother-in-law: Cathy W. Whaley, Williston; two brothers-in-law: Butch Andracki, Augusta, GA, and Eddie Whaley, Aiken; and his first wife: Tina Garvin, Waynesboro, GA. Mr. Garvin was also predeceased by one sister: Ann Andracki; and one grandson: James Owen Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made to the American Diabetic Association at donations.diabetes.org/‎.
