Mr. James Albert Sharpe

Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mr. James Albert Sharpe age 77,  will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Unity Holiness Church, Aiken, SC with Rev. James Robert Sharpe and Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.  Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded by the U. S. Army Ceremonial team.

Mr. Sharpe Entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his wife and family.  He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Mrs. Mary Ashley Sharpe, and son of the late Mr. William C. Sharpe and the late Mrs. Thelma Wilson Sharpe.

Mr. Sharpe was a native of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and had made Aiken his home for the past 47 years.  Mr. Sharpe started his career in  the grocery industry in Florida with Winn-Dixie  Grocery Store.  When he made his move to Aiken Mr. Sharpe was employed by Kroger and retired with 20 years of service as a Grocery Manager.  Mr. Sharpe was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a former member of the Men’s Sunday School Class, an usher, and a driver with the church’s bus ministry.  Mr. Sharpe attended Unity Holiness Church on Highway 19, Aiken.

Additional survivors include two sons, Rev. James. Robert (Bunnie) Sharpe, Aiken, William (Elba) Sharpe, Greenwood; three daughters, Karen (Jeffrey) Brown, Aiken, Donna (Bobby) Anderson, Aiken, Audrey Lynn Sharpe, Aiken; eleven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.  Mr. Sharpe was predeceased by four brothers, Ronnie M. Sharpe, Elmon Sharpe, Bill Sharpe, Leo Sharpe, and one sister, Katherine Horton, DeLand, Florida.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Marquez, Nelson Gonzalez, Will Sharpe, Robert Boettcher, Ethan Timmerman, and William Rikard.
