Mrs. Helen Yeargin Snipes

Aiken, SC -- Helen Yeargin Snipes, age 96, died peacefully, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Pruitt Health Aiken.  She was born in Anderson, SC and had made Aiken her home for the past four and a half years.  She was the wife of the late Lt. Col. Gilmer L. Snipes and a daughter of the late Mr. Fred Yeargin and the late Mrs. Josie Jones Yeargin.  Mrs. Snipes had retired from the Singer Plant in Anderson, SC and was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson. She is  survived by her daughters, Linda (Sam) Christine, Aiken, and Emily Moore, Bladenboro, NC; grandchildren, Donna Fanning, Aiken, Susan Pleasant, Wilmington, NC, Devlin Thompson, Athens, GA; three great grandchildren; son -in-law, Terry Thompson, Athens, GA and a special sister-in-law, Frances Yeargin, Anderson.   She was also predeceased by a daughter, Myra Thompson.  No formal visitation is scheduled and a private service will be held at a later date.
