Graniteville, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Harold E. Thompson, Sr., age 86, will be held 3:00 pm Friday April 24, 2026, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Cartin officiating. Interment will follow in the Graniteville Cemetery. Mr. Thompson entered into rest on Sunday April 19, 2026, at his residence. He was the beloved husband to the late Mrs. Barbara Renew Thompson and a son to the late Mr. Austin G. Thompson and the late Mrs. Mable Nelms McCollough. Mr. Thompson was born in Anderson, SC, but was a lifelong resident of the Aiken area. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Thompson spent twenty years as a mechanical technician for Flour-Daniels Construction Co. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, bowling, shooting pool, and darts. He was loved by his friends and family and will be deeply missed. Survivors include: one son Harold E. Thompson, Jr., Aiken, SC; three daughters Beverly Thompson, Jackson, SC, Sheila (Mike) Hornsby, Aiken, SC, and Karen Johnston, Beech Island, SC; one sister Virginia Jordan, Denver, NC; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his two brothers Edward Dean Thompson and Carroll Ray Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hollow Creek Baptist Church 136 Hollow Creek Church Rd Aiken, SC 29803.
