Mrs. Gladys Richardson Willis

Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Gladys Richardson Willis age 91 will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Redds Branch Baptist Church with Dr. Roy L. Head and Rev. Richard McWhite officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Willis will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Mrs. Willis entered into rest Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Pruitt Health ( Mattie C. Hall Nursing Home). She was a native and a life long resident of Aiken County and was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Mr. Sammie Willis and a daughter of the late Mr. Lonnie Richardson and the late Mrs. Evelyn Ford Richardson. Mrs. Willis  was a register Nurse at the  Aiken County Hospital . She held a Register Nurse position at Aiken Nursing Home (Azeliawoods) and also did some Private Duty Nursing, and retired in 1984.  She was a 1946 graduate of the University School of Nursing in Augusta, GA as a Register Nurse. Mrs. Willis was a member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Redds Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Sammie L. (Brenda) Willis, Jr.,  West Columbia; one daughter, Brenda (Grayson) Still, Aiken, one sister, Ruby Dedmon, Aiken; five grandchildren; Derrick Willis, Jeffrey (Angela) Willis, Stuart (Brittany)Still, Daniel Still, Chuck (Tracy) Still; eight great grandchildren, Dawson Willis, Matthew Willis, Noah Willis, Amelia Willis, Madison Still, Makenzie Still, Cre Still, and Chiara Still.  Mrs. Willis was also predeceased by one son, Lonnie Willis, and four sisters, Eleanor Duncan, Christine Seigler, Annie Richardson, and Judy Stevenson.

Pallbearers will be:  Tommy Blackwell, Terry Pinto, Will Regan, Rev. Jason, Redd, Glenn Rerdd, and Gary McAlister. Honorary pallbearers will be the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

The family would like memorials be made to the Redds Branch Baptist Church organ fund, 390 Redds Branch Road, Aiken, SC, 29801.
