Mrs. Geraldine “Jerry” Cole Colter
Ridgeland SC—Entered into rest Friday May 2, 2014 at UniHealth PAC-Low Country, Estill, SC, Mrs. Geraldine “Jerry” Cole Colter, age 85, daughter of the late Mr. Gordon Carl Cole, Sr. and the late Mrs. Bertha Schutz Cole.
A graveside service will be held 4:30 pm Monday, May 5, 2014 at Great Swamp Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC with Walter C. Cole officiating.
Mrs. Colter was a native if Quantico, VA, grew up in Port Royal, SC, and then moved to Ridgeland where she lived there for most of her life. She was well known in Ridgeland by many through her employment at the Jasper Five and Dime Store which was located downtown.
Survivors include three sons, James R. “Jimmy” (Vera) Liles, Ridgeland, Michael (Dottie) Colter, Ridgeland, Matthew Colter, Beaufort; one daughter, Margaret Liles Smith Port Royal; three brothers, Garland (Debbie) Cole, Ladson, Walter C. “Wally” (Joy) Cole, Beaufort, and William C. “Bill” (Susan) Cole, Aiken; five grandchildren, Renee’ Pritchard, Julie Crews, Robbie Liles, Tylor Liles, and Lauren Colter; three great grandchildren, Brooklynn Smoak, Brianna, Jared Lewis. Mrs. Colter was predeceased by one son Robert E. “Bobby” Liles, three brothers, Gordon Carl Cole, Jr., Howard Cole, Glenn H. Cole, two sisters, Marion Cole Corbett, Estell “Red” Cole Hendrix.
