Mr. Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Cook

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Cook age 74 will be held 3:00 pm Sunday September 11, 2022 at Friendship Community Church, Columbia Hwy. North Aiken with Pastor John Wade officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Cook entered into rest Wednesday September 7, 2022 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Aiken County and the beloved husband of Karen Buffett Cook of Aiken and a son of the late Mr. Albert Cook and the late Mrs. Ruth Osbon Cook. Mr. Cook was a self employed painter for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Cook was an avid golfer, enjoyed camping, playing the guitar, and Clemson Football. He attended Friendship Community Church, Aiken. Additional survivors include one son, Wayne (Judy) Mills, Franklin Springs, GA; two daughters, Candace (Jesse) Nix, Aiken, Jessica Prosser, Aiken; two brothers, Kenneth (Tammy) Cook, Aiken, Tommy (Arsi) Cook, Aiken; two sisters, Cheryl (Charles) Matthews, Aiken, Marilyn (Greg) Buffett, Aiken; twenty two grandchildren and one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Avery Setters, Hayden Setters, Nathan Prosser, Jaden Prosser, Jesse Nix, and Ashton Malone. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his daughter Jill Sheriff. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that memorials be made to Friendship Community Church 2467 Columbia Hwy North, Aiken, SC, 29805. The services will be live streamed on the Cole Funeral Home Facebook page. A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm Saturday September 10, 2022 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801.
