Geneva Quattlebaum

Mrs. Geneva Smith Quattlebaum

Aiken- Funeral service for Mrs. Geneva Smith Quattlebaum age 91 beloved wife of 52 years of Mr. Paul L. “Pee Wee” Quattlebaum and daughter of the late Mr. Mark Smith and the late Mrs. Essie Mae Caulder Smith will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Rocky Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Whaley and Rev. Clyde Harden officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Quattlebaum will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm.

Mrs. Quattlebaum was a native of Lexington County, SC, and was a life long resident of Aiken County.  She was a retired draw frame operator for Graniteville Company and Seminole Mills with over 32 years of service Mrs. Quattlebaum was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Parnell (Melvis) Barfield, Augusta, GA; two daughters, Vernell Morelli, Aiken, Irene Bush (James Sprous), Aiken; a daughter- in-law, Susie Barfield, Aiken; eleven grandchildren, Vernon Barfield, Diane Daniell, Charlotte Barfield, Janet Fogle, Teresa Fleckenstein, Gerri Johnson, Donnie Shumpert, Cherie Cook, Stephen Thomas, Chester Thomas, and Pamala Moody; fourteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.  Mrs. Quattlebaum was predeceased by one son, Lance Barfield; one daughter, Mary Ellen Johnson; five brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, George, Ott, and John Smith; three sisters, Eula Gunter, Essie Lee Gant, Rosa Lee Hall, and two grand children, Sandra Waters and Brenda Porter.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Sturkie, Walter Daniell, Donnie Shumpert, Gerri Johnson, Gary Cook, Martin Gunter, and Melvin Gunter.

The family suggest that memorials be made to Rocky Springs Baptist Church Cemetery fund, P.O. Box 224 Wagener, SC 29164.
