Aiken-Entered into rest Tuesday October 29, 2013 at his residence, Rev. Floyd Edward Francis age 76 beloved husband of 18 years to Mrs. Deannie Davis Francis and son of the late Mr. Floyd S. Francis and Mrs.  Elizabeth M. Boyd Francis.

A celebration of his life service will be held 2:30 pm Saturday November 2, 2013 at South Aiken Church of God with Rev. Bruce Fox, Rev. Kenny Murphy, Rev. Bill Waters and Rev. Rick Wellington officiating.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery with military honors.

Rev. Francis was a native of Denver Colorado and had made Aiken his home for the past 17 years.  He starting Pastoral ministry in July 1962. Rev. Francis had over 50 years of service as a minister in the Church of God.  He received his master of divinity from the Church of God School of Theology, Cleveland, TN.   Rev. Francis was a member and a Staff Minister at South Aiken Church of God where he was the Director of Recovery Counseling, and a member of New Fire Senior Adult Group.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Additional survivors include three sons, Sylvan Brooks “Lucille” Francis, CO, Donnie “Lori” Shaffer, and Keith Shaffer of Aiken; three daughters, Christal “Glenn” Strickland, North Charleston, Sabrian “George” Hill, Duncan, Dana Shaffer Coontz, Aiken; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Rev. Francis was predeceased by his first wife, Alice H. Van Dyke Francis.

Pallbearers will be: Jay Ray, Murrell Duncan, Bill Woodward, James New, Todd Wilson, Ken Bell, Jamie Hammonds, Richard Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be the New Fire Senior Adult Group.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Life Skills, c/o South Aiken Church of God, 2700 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC  29803.
