Aiken--A celebration of life service for Mrs. Elizabeth Dobey Washington age 76, will be held 11:00 am Friday October 12, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Croft Mill Road with Bro. Wallace Davis officiating. Interment will be held privately. Mrs. Washington entered into rest Saturday October 6, 2018 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She was a native of Edgefield County and was a life long residence of Aiken County. Mrs. Washington was the beloved wife of 56 years to Mr. Fred Washington, Jr. of Aiken, and was the daughter of the late Mr. George Dobey and the late Mrs. Louise Simpkins Dobey. She had retired after 101/2 years of service with Bath Mills as a weaver. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness's East Congregation on Croft Mill Road. Additional survivors include two sons, Gregory Leon Washington, Aiken and Bruce Fredrick (Shirley) Washington, Aiken; one daughter, Onassia Lavett (Nathaniel) Bonham, Aiken; one brother, Arthur Dobey, Edgefield, SC; three sisters, Mary Frances Joseph, Sarasota, Florida, Gladys Padgett, Augusta, GA, Sarah Quiller, Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, Brandon R. Washington, Keion D. Bonham, Melvin Courtney, Jamal Courtney, and Mark Courtney. Mrs. Washington was predeceased by five brothers, Clarence, Henry, Willie, James Dobey, and John Williams; three sisters, Annie Belle Knox, Rosa Lee Bush, and Jeanette Dobey. The family will receive friends following the service at the Kingdom Hall, Croft Mill Rd. Aiken, SC.
