Wagener, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Elaine Lynn Garvin, age 58, will be held 11:00 am on Monday July 6, 2026, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Pascal officiating. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Garvin, Mike Heath, Tony Mayle, Josh Holtzendorff, Tommy Stevens, and Evan Favian. Mrs. Garvin entered into rest on Saturday June 27, 2026, at her residence. She was a beloved daughter of the late Mr. Harvey Sampson and the late Mrs. Hilda Johnson. Mrs. Garvin was born in Detroit, MI, but had made the Aiken area her home since 1983. She was of the Baptist faith, as well as a member of the Lumbee Indian Tribe. Mrs. Garvin loved reading, especially her Bible. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, and watching tv. She had a green thumb and grew flower gardens and vegetable gardens. Mrs. Garvin also enjoyed canning her vegetables. She was a loving woman and will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Survivors include: one son Jacob (Kaitlyn Heath) Garvin, Aiken; one brother Anthony “Tony” (Joni) Mayle, Aiken, SC; two sisters Sheila (Harper) Sanner, East Palestine, OH, and Jennifer Mayle, OH; three grandchildren Autumn Garvin, Luna Garvin, Kaiden Garvin; and a host of step-sisters and step-brothers. Mrs. Garvin was preceded in death by: one son Joshua Garvin; one brother Harvey “Keith” Sampson; and one sister Patty Rudish.
