Mr. Doyle Edward Peterson

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mr. Doyle Edward Peterson, age 92 will be held 10:00 am Monday February 11, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeff Erbskorn and Rev. Adam Cornwell officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Columbarium at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with military honors accorded by the U.S. Army Ceremonial Team.  Mr. Peterson entered into rest Tuesday February 5, 2019 at his residence.  He was the beloved husband of the late Mrs. Letha Skinner Peterson and a son of the late Mr. Erik Peterson and the late Mrs. Ava Benson Peterson.  Mr. Peterson was a native of Healdton, OK and had made Aiken County his home since 1952.  He was a project assistant with E.I. du Pont De Nemours  at the Savannah River Plant retiring in 1984.  After his retirement Mr. Peterson went to work at Western Auto on Richland Ave. and had 10 years of service with them.  He was a veteran of WWII of served in the U.S. States Army.  Mr. Peterson enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.  Survivors include one son, Glen Peterson, Aiken; one daughter, Brenda (John) Chaplinsky, Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Sonya White, Tanya Salter, Laura Spencer and J. Erik Chaplinsky and four great grandchildren. The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to Ralph Smith and Trinity Hospice for all they did for Mr. Peterson.
