Mr. Douglas Edward Shumpert
Aiken—Entered into rest Wednesday April 17, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers Mr. Douglas Edward Shumpert age 70 son of the late Mr. Farrell Shumpert and Mrs. Salley Mae Rodgers Shumpert.
A celebration of life will be held 5:30 pm Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Earle Church of God with Rev. Clyde Harden officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Pauline Church of Christ, Fairview, SC.
Mr. Shumpert was a native of Pelion, SC and had make Aiken County his home for most of his life. He retired from the state of South Carolina Wildlife Department as a Game Warden with 20 years service.
Mr. Shumpert was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Donnie Shumpert, Aiken; one daughter, Cherie (Gary) Cook, Evans, GA; two brothers, Forest and Henry Shumpert, Batesburg; two sisters, Iona Cooper and Sherry Nicewonger, Batesburg; two grandchildren, Cody Shumpert and Bryson Cook.
A visitation with the family will be held 4-5:30 pm Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Earle Church of God.
