Dolores Hamrick

Dolores Bates Hamrick entered into rest on Thursday April 16, 2026 peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack on January 15, 2020. They were married for 63 years and survived by their 7 children. Susan Marie (Steve), John Charles (Robyn), Lucinda Rose (John), Jeffrey Daniel (Terry), June Margaret (Hinton), Stephen Louis (Beverly) and Jason Alexander (Alisa); 14 grandchildren: Derek, Jackson, Tess, Candice, Zachary, Alexander, Jake, Galen, Luke, Hinton, Wren, Jack Thomas and Bates: and 10 great grandchildren; Sophie, Findley, Della Grace, Maggie Rose, Hampton, George, Cora, Lucy, James, and Valarie.

Dolores is also survived by Jack’s sister, Dorothy Roberts and her lifelong friend Frances Tomcavage.

Dolores was devoted to her large family, her Catholic faith and conservatism. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christian Church. She and her husband Jack were Blessed Sacrament adorers for 20 years, and she greatly enjoyed being a lector at Mass for several years. She was a retired nursing home administrator and loved to read and travel. Jack was Guardian-ad-litem and Dolores, briefly, taught ESL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Old St. Mary Help of Christians Church on 203 Park Ave SE with Father Michael Ghattas as celebrant on Monday April 27, 2026 at 10am.
