Aiken SC--A celebration of life service for Mrs. Dixie Lee Hobel Harkless, age 79 will be held 11:00 am Saturday March 10, 2018 at Grace Church, Aiken, SC. with Rev. Don Soule officiating.    Mrs. Harkless went to her heavenly home after a long battle with Glioblastoma  Monday March 5, 2018 from her residence.  She was the wife of  43 years to Mr. James Crawford Harkless and a daughter of Mrs. Anna Jaworsky Hobel, Aiken, and the late Mr. Arthur Hobel in 2006.  Mrs. Harkless was born July 30, 1938 in New Castle PA, and had made Aiken County her home for the past 32 years.  She enjoyed baking, reading, camping, gardening and watching her grandchildren at play.  Mrs. Harkless was an active member of Grace Church, Aiken, SC.  Additional survivors include one son, Bruce (Sherrie) Stuart, Aiken; one daughter, Lisa Stuart, Aiken; two step sons, Kevin (Alana) Harkless, Elfer FL, Darrin (Jean) Harkless, Savannah, IL; two step daughters, Kathy (Geoff) Dutton, Aiken, Debra (Marty) Buckle, West Farmington, OH;  two sisters, Ginger Hobel, Red Bluff, CA, Arlene (Dyrke) Spiker, Rincon, GA; fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Mrs. Harkless was also predeceased by her first husband, Bernard Stuart in 1969 .
