Mr. Dennis Wayne Long

Beech Island, SC—Mr. Dennis Wayne Long, age 69, entered into rest on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at his residence. He was a son of the late Mr. Ervin Long, Jr., and the late Mrs. Betty Jean Rayfield. Mr. Long was born in Augusta, GA, but had made the Beech Island area his home for most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing on the Savannah River, as well as spending time camping. He was an avid gardener and an excellent cook. Mr. Long enjoyed watching NASCAR, and his favorite racer was Dale Earnhardt. He was very crafty and was a jack of all trades. He was a loving father, and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Survivors include two daughters Susan (Starr) Nicole Long, St. Petersburg, FL, and Stephanie Marie Long, FL; one brother Ronald Ervin Long, Clarks Hill, SC; one sister Linda Jean Robbins, Jackson, SC; three grandchildren Summer Long, DJ McDaniel, Jr., and Clayton Locke; one great grandchild DJ McDaniel, III; one nephew Phillip (Kelly) D. Dobson, IV, Aiken, SC; three nieces Kimberly (Stephen) Boatwright, Aiken, SC, Rebecca (Stan) Johnson, Graniteville, SC, and Rachel (Justin) Wilson, Graniteville, SC; and a host of great nieces. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his step-mother Myrtle P. Long. A private burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery.
