Mrs. Debra "Debbie" Jean McCollum Vermillion

Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Debra “Debbie” Jean McCollum Vermillion, age 73, will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Montmorenci with the Rev. Logan C. Ford officiating. Mrs. Vermillion entered into rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Mr. Charles Lee Vermillion and a daughter to the late Mr. Harry Eugene McCollum and the late Mrs. Helen Maxine Gleaton McCollum. Mrs. Vermillion was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, but had made the Aiken area her home for most of her life. She attended Central Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci. She had a love for gardening and yard décor. She enjoyed watchingYellowstone, old westerns, Hallmark movies, and especially the daily news. An avid animal lover, Mrs. Vermillion had a special place in her heart for dogs. Debbie was known for her genuine spirit, always willing to give the shirt off her back, yet never afraid to speak her mind. She was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Additional survivors include: one son, Robert (April) Vermillion, Aiken, SC; two brothers, Jenie Lee (Sandy) McCollum, Montmorenci, SC, and Tommy (Pam) McCollum, Sr., Aiken, SC; two sisters, Sharon Ford, Montmorenci, SC, and Adrina (Randy) Owens, Aiken, SC; two grandchildren, William Carlisle and Alyssa Carlisle; one great-grandchild, River Carlisle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
