Mr. Christopher “Chris” Larry Wood

Aiken, SC-- A celebration of life service for Mr. Christopher “Chris” Larry Wood, age 52, will be held 4:00 p.m. on Friday July 10, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens, Rev. Earl Carter Rev. Jonathon Randall officiating. Interment will follow at Graniteville Cemetery. Mr. Wood entered into rest on June 27, 2026 at Wellstar Medical College (AU) surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son to Mrs. Joyce Wood the late Mr. Larry Wood. A lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Wood graduated from Midland Valley High School in 1992. He attended Bethel Baptist Church and was a member of Little Horse Creek Baptist Church of Graniteville, SC. Mr. Wood worked as a vinyl siding installer for Croftmill Siding until his injury in 2007. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and he kept it shined up and sparkling clean. His motorcycle was his baby. He loved Clemson football and always wanted to argue with Carolina fans. He loved to aggravate Mr. Cole about various things. He didn’t like tacos but he sure loved Zaxby’s. One of his hobbies was going camping with his nephew Travis. He loved his cats and his family dearly. His cousins were more like brothers and sisters to him, and he loved the children of the family. Mr. Wood will be missed by his friends and family. In honor of Mr. Christopher Larry Wood, aka “Wood,” the family asks that those attending the service wear Clemson shirts or Clemson colors for his Clemson tigers. Additional survivors include his sister: Shannon Lynette Brooks Wood; nephew Travis Sanchez; niece Arrie Sanchez; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. Pallbearers will be Victor Turner, Micheal Dingess, Belgain Jackson, John Wood (Little John), Kevin Hartley, Grayson Wood, Ray Taylor Jr., and Joe Garcia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents John Henry Wood, Sr. and Sarah Gennelle Wood of Graniteville, SC, and Mary Louise Goodwin and Kenneth Goodwin of Warrenville, SC, and Homer and Mary Wood of Aiken, SC. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Wood, Chris Taylor, Alex Wood, Tristen Wood, Leame Williams, Kyle Hartley, Ray Jaylon, Keith Wood, Jimmy Wood, Uncle Jimmie Wood, Donnie Lowe, Stephen Lowe, Robbie Lowe, John Henry Wood, Jr., John Henry Wood III, and Will (Maurilio Sanchez). In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org and/or the Children’s Hospital of Augusta www.wellstar.org .
