Mrs. Charlotte Jean Young Lawson

Aiken—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Charlotte Jean Young Lawson age 76, will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2014 at COLE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Rev. Chris Masters officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville.

Mrs. Lawson entered into rest Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Azalea Woods Nursing Facility, Aiken, SC. She was the wife of 31 years to the late Mr. Milfred Franklin Lawson, and a daughter of the late Mr. Edward Young and the late Mrs. Georgiana Bates Young.  She was a native of Summit New Jersey, and had made Aiken County her home for the past 40 years.  Mrs. Lawson was a retired Medical Clerk, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  She was an active member of Millbrook Baptist Church, and the Friendship Sunday School Class at Millbrook Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Toby) Marks, Aiken; Heather (Marc) Auger, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Esther Marks, Daphne and Liam Auger.  Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by one brother, Edward Young, two sisters, Dorothy Quitzau, Ellen Koehler.

Pallbearers will be Toby Marks, Marc Auger, Eddie Young, Porter Galente, John McLaughlin, and Joe Shappell.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggests that memorials be made to Mead Hall Episcopal School, 129 Pendleton Street, Aiken, 29801 or to Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, 688 Grant Street, Atlanta, GA, 30315.
