Aiken, SC--The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Catherine Sullivan Woodward age 83 will take place 11:00 am Saturday June 25, 2022 at the old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on Park Ave., Aiken, SC with the very Reverend Gregory Wilson as celebrant.  Final Prayers and Commendations will be held at Aiken Memorial Park. Mrs. Woodward entered into rest peacefully Tuesday June 21, 2022 at her residence.  She was the beloved wife of 31 years to the late Mr. Thomas Wade Woodward and a daughter of the late Mr. Richard S. Sullivan and the late Mrs. Nellie Steele Sullivan.  Mrs. Woodward was  a native and a lifelong resident of Aiken, SC.  She graduated high school in 1957 from St. Angela Academy and was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Mrs. Woodward retired in 1986 after a 29 year career finance.  Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening and the history of Aiken.  She also loved to cook good southern dishes for her friends. She also cherished her time and visits with family and friends.  Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Stokes, Hanahan, SC, Pam (Alton Smith, Fiancé) Woodward, Aiken; two grandchildren, Jared Stokes, Caleb (Lyda) Stokes and one great grandchild, Rowan Woodward Stokes.  Mrs. Woodward was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred Hahn, Richard Sullivan, and Buddy Sullivan; two sisters, Frances G. Rush and Christine Hart. Pallbearers will be Steve Woodward, Gary Carbaugh, Rick Sullivan, Leo Hall, Derrick Hahn, and Chris Sullivan. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association  at www.diabetes.org. A prayer vigil will take place at 5:45 pm Friday June 24, 2022 followed by a visitation with the family from 6-8 pm at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
