Aiken, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Carolyn Lybrand Cooper age 88 will be held 3:00 PM Friday June 19, 2026 at Bethel Baptist Church, Aiken, SC with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ridge Spring, SC. Pallbearers will be James Wheeler, Roy Willing, Andy Paterson, Ricky Cook, David Rinehart, and Van Holder. Mrs. Cooper was a native and a life long resident of Aiken county. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Donald Cooper and a daughter of the late Mr. William Lybrand and the late Mrs. Clyde Rutland Lybrand. Mrs. Cooper was employed by the Graniteville Company at the Warren Division with 20 years of service as a time keeper then she moved on to Owens-Corning Fiberglass and retired in 2008 after 16 years of service as a beamer. Mrs. Cooper was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of Faith A 'Gape Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, yard work and Talk and Tell Stories. Mrs. Cooper had a love of her dogs and cats as well. Survivors include one son, Troy Wayne Cooper, Aiken; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Cooper, Aiken, one sister-in-law, Jeannie Bledsoe Lybrand, Johnston, SC; 4 grandchildren, Donnie Carroll (Jennie) Cooper, Carolyn Hope (Tracy Raxton) Cooper, Chrissy (Lauren) Compton, and Ashley (David) Rinehart; 3 great grandchildren, Luke Carroll Cooper, Daniel Wood and Asia Wood. Mrs. Cooper was predeceased by two sons, Donald Carroll Cooper, Charles Allen Cooper; two brothers, Lewis Lybrand, Larry Lybrand. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church 1127 Bethel Church Road, Aiken, SC, 29801.
