Mr. Carless Eugene Winnett

Aiken, SC-- Mr. Carless Eugene Winnett, age 75, entered into rest on Thursday August 23, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Sparta, TN, and had made Aiken County his home for the last 30 or more years. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Sandra Winnett of Aiken, and a son of the late Mr. Herbert Winnett and the late Mrs. Essie Burgess Winnett. Mr. Winnett was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. After his time in the military, Mr. Winnett moved to Aiken where he took on welding for SRS and later became a machine operator at Pactiv in Beech Island. He was a gun enthusiast and loved to fish. Though not a huge sports fan, Mr. Winnett was a fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. Additional survivors include two sons: Joey (Teresa) Winnett, OK and Chris Bonnette, Modoc, SC; four daughters: Tomme Sue [David (predeceased)] Szabo, OK, Carla (Mark) Busby, OK, Corie (Chad) Lyle, OK, and Cassie (Bobby) Patel, VA; three sisters: Marie (Doug) Young, TN, Joyce (Gary) Guinn, TN, and Wanda (Steven) Stedry, TN; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project ( https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ ) or the American Heart Association ( https://www.heart.org/en/ ).
