Aiken--A celebration of life service for Mr. Carl Weathersbee, age 88 will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Christian Heritage Church with Rev. Stephen Phillips, Rev. Jody Padgett, and Rev. Jonathan Randall officiating. Interment will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors accorded by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Team. Mr. Weathersbee went to be the with Lord at his residence Sunday, January 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and a life long residence of Aiken County and the beloved husband of 66 years to Mrs. Barbara Gunter Weathersbee of Aiken, and a son of the late Mr. Willie Weathersbee and the late Mrs. Leona Beard Weathersbee. He retired as a carpenter after 13 years of service with Dupont Construction at the Savannah River Plant. Through the years Mr. Weathersbee has been associated with Dyches Building Supply with 15 years of service, Montgomery and Crawford, 10 years of service and with his long time friend the Late Raymond Grice of Grice Cabinet Shop with over 25 years of service. Mr. Weathersbee was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was an active and long time member of Christian Heritage Church in Graniteville for the past 63 years where he was a former deacon a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and was lead singer, and traveled with the family Southern Gospel Group "Glad Tidings Quartet" and minstered with them for 12 years spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through song. Additional survivors include three sons, Don (Cindy) Weathersbee, Evans, GA, Mark (Pam) Weathersbee, Warrenville, Kyson Weathersbee, Aiken; one daughter, Kathy Weathersbee (Buck) Harvey, Aiken; eight grandchildren, Alicia Powell, James and William Whaley, Gabe, Joey, Brad, Eric, and Sean Weathersbee, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Pallbearers will be Joey, Eric, Gabe, Sean, Brad Weathersbee and Erik Harley. Honorary Pallbearer, William Whaley. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made the the Shriner's Children's Hospital, at www.shrinershospitals.org/donate. A visitation with the family will take place at 12:00 noon -1:30 pm Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Christian Heritage Church, Graniteville.
