Mrs. Betty Jean Barton Willing

Aiken—Mrs. Betty Jean Barton Willing age 76 went home peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence, Thursday June 13, 2013.  She was the loving wife of Mr. Austin Willing and daughter of the late Mr. Frampton Barton and Mrs. Pearl Key Barton.

A celebration of her life service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday June 18, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Taylor Wells officiating.  Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Park. Mrs. Willing will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

Mrs. Willing was born and lived all her life in Aiken SC.  She retired in 1999 after 14 years of service as secretary at South Aiken Presbyterian Church and previously served as the secretary for many years at St. Paul Lutheran Church when it was located on Laurens Street.  Mrs. Willing was a former member of the Pilot Club of Aiken and was a 1953 graduate of Windsor High School. She was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Bible Ladies Sunday School Class.

Additional survivors include one son, Alan (Brenda) Willing, Aiken; two daughters, Ann (Allen) Seigler, Aiken, Tammy (Louis) Visnyai, Aiken; three brothers, Thomas (Roslyn)Barton, Aiken, Charles (Lynette) Barton, Aiken, Ronnie (Karon) Barton, Edgefield; two sisters, Iris Padgett, Aiken, Joann Keatts, Monetta; five grandchildren Jake (Heather) Ramsey, Emilee Ramsey, Valerie (Micheal) Zielinski, Chris Seigler, Allison Visnyai; two great grandchildren Anslee Zielinski, Olivia Ramsey, and a number of nieces, nephews and couisins.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Chris Seigler, Micheal Zielinski, Jake Ramsey, Chuck Barton, Robbie Willing, and Tim Barton.  The Honorary Pallbearers will be the Bible Ladies Sunday School Class of Shiloh Baptist Church.

The family suggest that memorials may be made to the WMU c/o Shiloh Baptist Church 3925 Shiloh Church Road, Aiken, SC, 29801. The family would like to express a gratitude of thanks to Dr. Lana Jackson at the Medical College of Georgia and to the Staff of Regency Hospice for all their compassion and Care that was given to Mrs. Willing during her illness.
